Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed has made the jump to smartphones, with THQ Nordic Mobile releasing the game on iOS and Android on September 16. The mobile adaptation brings the modern remake of the cult Mickey Mouse adventure to touchscreens with controls redesigned around phones and tablets. Rebrushed revisits the Wasteland setting and the paint-and-thinner mechanics that allow players to alter parts of the environment while exploring.

Bringing a full-scale console-style adventure to mobile continues a broader trend in which publishers are treating high-end smartphones as viable platforms for premium games rather than limiting releases to smaller companion experiences. The challenge is usability: sophisticated 3D games need touch interfaces that do not obscure the action or overwhelm players with virtual buttons.
