Pokémon Sleep has begun its Halloween 2026 celebrations, introducing new Ghost-type Pokémon, special encounters and substantially improved rewards for players who manage to accomplish the apparently difficult task of going to bed. The Halloween 2026: Double Candy Research event runs from October 26 through November 2, with the event period beginning at 4am Japanese time on October 26.
Misdreavus and Mismagius join the available Pokémon from 3pm Japanese time, appearing in selected research areas when players record suitable sleep sessions. Both belong to the Ghost type and feature the Magical Flame main skill, which can increase the cooking pot's capacity while improving the probability of achieving an extra-tasty meal. A special Eevee wearing a purple Halloween hat also appears during the event, alongside increased opportunities to encounter other Ghost-type Pokémon.
Participating players receive at least twice the usual candy from their first daily sleep research session between October 26 and October 30. The bonus increases to three times the normal amount on October 31 and November 1. Ghost-type helper Pokémon also receive several useful advantages, including additional ingredients and increased main-skill activation rates. These bonuses make the event particularly attractive to players attempting to develop their existing Pokémon collections.
Unlike conventional Pokémon games, Pokémon Sleep builds its progression around real-world sleep patterns, encouraging players to maintain regular bedtime routines. Seasonal events provide additional motivation without requiring constant interaction throughout the day. Nevertheless, anyone hoping to encounter every special Pokémon will still need patience and a little luck. Apparently the secret to becoming an outstanding Pokémon trainer is no longer staying awake all night. It is doing exactly the opposite.
