Pokémon GO is celebrating Halloween with the debut of Mega Chandelure during a special raid event scheduled for October 31 from 2pm until 5pm local time. The Ghost- and Fire-type Pokémon appears in Super Mega Raids, introducing additional challenges for players hoping to expand their collections. Unlike ordinary raid encounters, the new format involves additional defensive mechanics and places greater emphasis on coordinated teamwork.

Successful participants can encounter Chandelure, with increased opportunities to obtain a Shiny version. The event also introduces the Super Max Mega Level, a new progression milestone that allows eligible Pokémon to become more powerful through further development. Mega Chandelure can eventually unlock Ominous Wind+, an additional Charged Attack that becomes stronger as its Mega Level increases.

Players can receive up to six free Raid Passes by spinning Gym Photo Discs, while the Remote Raid limit increases to twenty during the promotional window. A separate paid ticket offers additional passes, bonus experience, Stardust and improved opportunities to receive Rare Candy XL. Timed Research provides further rewards, including a Premium Battle Pass and a Tyranitar encounter. A worldwide community challenge also encourages trainers to complete raids and unlock temporary bonuses for November.

With the event lasting only three hours, preparation will be particularly important. Apparently Halloween has reached the point where the most frightening decoration is a giant burning chandelier that requires several friends and a detailed battle strategy.
