Cygames has released a new promotional commercial celebrating the collaboration between Princess Connect! Re:Dive and Umamusume: Pretty Derby. The advertisement was highlighted in fresh Japanese coverage on November 1, following the event's October 31 launch. The crossover features a special storyline titled Great Dash! Princess Derby, in which several familiar horse girls unexpectedly enter the fantasy world of Legend of Astrum.
Almond Eye, Lucky Lilac and Daring Tact find themselves in unfamiliar surroundings after Gold Ship transports them into the virtual world. Unfortunately, Gold Ship subsequently disappears and is discovered in a remarkably unusual condition, forcing the visitors to cooperate with the Gourmet Guild. Players can recruit Gold Ship as a limited collaboration character through event participation, while Almond Eye appears in a special recruitment campaign.
Lucky Lilac and Daring Tact will receive additional recruitment opportunities later. The collaboration includes story quests, boss encounters and character-development rewards. The new commercial features a suspiciously enthusiastic character calling herself Karyl, with voice performances by Hitomi Ueda and Rika Tachibana. The event continues until November 23 in the Japanese service.
Crossovers between games operated by the same publisher create opportunities to connect established audiences while introducing unexpected storytelling combinations. Apparently fantasy adventurers have discovered that defeating dragons is considerably easier than organising a sporting event involving Gold Ship.
