AYN's Odin 3 Portal has entered its scheduled November shipping window, giving Android handheld enthusiasts another premium option to consider. The manufacturer continues accepting orders for the device, with shipping officially scheduled to begin in early November. The Portal combines Qualcomm's Dragonwing Q8 processor with a seven-inch AMOLED display operating at up to 120Hz. Additional features include Android 15, a 9000mAh battery, Hall-effect analogue sticks, a headphone jack and expandable storage.

Four configurations are available. The entry-level Base model includes 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage with introductory pricing beginning at $399. The Pro increases storage to 256GB for $479, while the Max models provide 16GB of RAM and either 512GB or 1TB of storage, priced at $549 and $669 respectively during the promotional period. The device targets players interested in native Android games, cloud streaming and legally obtained retro gaming collections.

Unlike Windows handhelds, it does not offer native compatibility with conventional PC games without additional software. Its combination of processing power, battery capacity and OLED display nevertheless makes it an interesting competitor within the premium Android category. Importantly, early-November shipping remains a manufacturer target, and individual orders have not been independently confirmed as dispatched.

Apparently modern handheld enthusiasts have reached the point where choosing a portable gaming device requires almost as much research as purchasing an actual computer.
